Speculative Fiction Library

This is the content of my Speculative Fiction library. The term “speculative fiction” is used to mean a fictional work that explores the possibilities of different worlds. It’s a means by which the sometimes blurred distinction between, for instance, science fiction and fantasy can be ignored in favour of a more overall genre classification. In this case, I am using it to include not only the science fiction and fantasy genres, but also horror, mystery, and thriller.

What you see here is not an entirely complete list. Unfortunately, I don’t know exactly what’s missing. At some point in the past, I lost the content of my computer’s hard drive and had to restore from backup—but the most recent backup I had of this particular database was a couple of years out of date. So, I own some books that are not included here. The only way I could tell what’s missing would be to take a physical inventory of everything on my shelves and compare it against this list. As you might guess, this is not something that’s entirely “quick,” so I haven’t yet got around to doing that.
